'Mandorla' a drawing by David Begley made whilst on a three month residency at The RHA, Dublin in 2014 has been selected for Peripheries Open 2017 at Gorey School of Art 's new Peripheries Space. Exhibition opens December 1 - January 3 2018.
CLANG SAYNE COLLABORATION
David created seven monotype prints in response to Clang Sayne's 2017 album The round soul of the world. The monotypes were exhibited at Wexford Arts Centre on Sunday 8th October to accompany Clang Sayne's performance at WAC. See images here
ARTS COUNCIL TRAVEL AND TRAINING AWARD
David was awarded an Arts Council of Ireland Travel and Training Award for Literature in support of his residency at Stiwdio Maelor, Wales. David attended the residency in August in order to work on his first Novel, Bone Black, a work in progress.
LIVING ARTS PROJECT RESIDENCY 2017 / 2018
David will be artist in residence at St Senan's National School, Enniscorthy for 2017 / 2018 in association with Wexford Arts Centre and supported by Wexford County Council.

David was an invited artist at The Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition 2017, RHA Dublin, May 22 - August 12.
David was awarded an Artlinks Literature Bursary in April in support of his first Novel, 'Bone Black', a work in progress.
LIVING ARTS PROJECT RESIDENCY 2016 / 2017
David is artist in residence at Cushinstown National School in association with Wexford Arts Centre and supported by Wexford County Council. This project culminated in the completion and exhibition of a 5 minute short film comprising of hundreds of still images in monotype, carborundum and collage as well as stop motion animation. Living Arts exhibition runs at Wexford Arts Centre in April 2017.

'Be' and 'Breathe' by David Begley have been selected for DAS2015, Belfast. DAS2015 is an open submission exhibition curated by the Digital Arts Studios. Irish artist and writer David Begley, born Dublin 1972, studied at NCAD and The West Wales School of The Arts. His drawings and paintings have been exhibited in America, Australia, Britain, France, China and he exhibits regularly in Ireland. His anthropomorphic landscapes and allegorical figurative works utilise classical and contemporary techniques whilst drawing upon invention as much as observation. Begley’s paintings are inspired by mythological, art historical and literary themes. He is a featured artist at The Drawing Suite.
Recent solo exhibitions include Breathe Linenhall Arts Centre & wexford Arts Centre  Recent group exhibitions include The 185th Annual Exhibition, RHA, Dublin  Drawing 2015, Oriel Myrrddin, Wales, Irish Wave 2013 [Beijing, Shanghai March 2013], Eigse Carlow Arts Festival 2014, 2013 and 2012, Visual Carlow, and VUE National Contemporary Art Fair, RHA Dublin 2012. David was awarded an Artlinks Bursary in 2014 and The Tyrone Guthrie Bursary Award by Wexford County Council in 2012. He is currently working on a series of large scale drawings and animations whilst on a three month studio residency at The RHA, Dublin. His work is to be found in the collections of The Contemporary Irish Arts Society, The Environmental Protection Agency, Offiice of Public Works, and Irish National Teachers Organisation.
